Man on the Moon, New Writing North’s theatre production aimed at children under 7 and their families, blasts off off on a tour of 41 venues across the North of England, including 33 in the North East. Produced by New Writing North in association with Sage Gateshead for Durham Book Festival, the tour will be visiting libraries, community centres and primary schools across the North, including many places that have no permanent theatre of their own.
The play, adapted by Zoe Cooper from the picture book by Simon Bartram, tells the story of Bob, the man on the moon, who takes his job and himself very seriously. Bob has little time for play with so much work to be done, but with the help of some all-singing all-dancing creatures (couldn’t possibly be aliens) and the children in the audience, he soon learns to lighten up.
