Herman Koch is the author of a number of novels including the international bestseller The Dinner, which was also adapted into a film starring Richard Gere and Laura Linney. His new novel The Ditch is the story of a how a seemingly stable man quickly becomes entangled in his own fears and suspicions.

Since beginning her writing career in 1988, Dagmar Leupold has published over fifteen novels in her native Germany and won the German Book Prize. She is head of the Creative Writing Department at the University of Tübingen.
