This event brings together three authors whose novels explore the darker side of the North.

In a thrilling new novel from the author of Longbourn, Jo Baker’s The Body Lies is a work of riveting psychological suspense that explores how to live as a woman in the world when the stakes are dangerously high.

A.A. Dhand’s DCI Harry Virdee is back in One Way Out. Delving deep into the dark side of Bradford, Virdee explores a city driven by racial tensions, as he races to save his wife and the city from a new and aggressive nationalist group.

The Scandal is the newest novel from the North East crime writer Mari Hannah. Set against a Tyneside backdrop, DS Frankie Oliver grapples with a murder in Newcastle city centre in the run up to Christmas.
