This session will be adapted from his new book How to Write It, part of the new ‘How To’ collection from Stormzy’s #MerkyBooks.
Anthony Anaxagorou, will walk aspiring writers through his personal journey of falling into poetry at a young age, and his years spent honing his craft and building a community of poets.
Anthony will also provide two practical writing exercises to get you started. Whether seeking to detangle yourself from writer’s block or find inspiration in your everyday this workshop is the place to start.
Anthony Anaxagorou is a British-born Cypriot poet, fiction writer, essayist, publisher and poetry educator. His poetry has been published in POETRY, The Poetry Review, Poetry London, Granta, The Rialto and elsewhere. His second collection After the Formalities was selected as one of The Telegraph’s and The Guardian’s best poetry books of 2019 and shortlisted for the 2019 T.S Eliot Prize. Anthony is also artistic director of Out-Spoken, and is founder of Out-Spoken Press, an independent publisher of poetry and critical writing that aims to challenge the lack of diversity in British publishing.
